Eudemonics recently entered into our first phase of a new project with our charity partners Double Impact under the governments Rough Sleeping Drug and Alcohol Treatment Grant.

As part of the project, we’re providing training to drug and alcohol workers in diverse settings, such as Prisons and Hostels, in order to support their aims of becoming trauma-informed, and help them to understand the links between trauma and addiction.

Going beyond Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), taking a deep dive, and pushing further into the subject of trauma than ever before, drug workers from across Lincolnshire have benefited from learning about trauma through the lens of their own experience.

Sean McCallum, Director of Eudemonics, said “The first two workshops have been so fulfilling for delegates, whose depth of knowledge and awareness of trauma has significantly increased. That knowledge will now benefit their client populations in some of the most difficult work streams of drug and alcohol treatment. Feedback from staff of Double Impact and We Are With You has been absolutely fantastic – the trauma training is relevant, robust and sets out a common framework for a trauma-informed perspective of addiction.”

With more workshops scheduled to take place during 2023, this exciting and impactful work will continue to help both drug and alcohol workers and their clients.
